A new scam targeting job seekers invites you to apply for a job at Amazon then purchase an “enrollment kit.” Don’t fall for it.
The Better Business Bureau says the job offer appears to come from Amazon, either by email or voicemail, offering anywhere from $20 per hour to $6,000 a month – and you can work from home. You’re then asked to submit $200 before you can start working for an “enrollment kit.” The job offer is bogus, and the scammers then make off with your money and vanish.

Vaughn Allex was working the ticket counter at American Airlines at Dulles Iinternational Airport on Sept. 11, 2001, when two men arrived, late for Flight 77.
Allex followed procedure and checked the men through. He didn’t find out until the next day that those two men were among the five hijackers who crashed Flight 77 into the Pentagon, killing 189 people — including themselves.
“I didn’t know what I had done,” Allex told StoryCorps. “I came to work and people wouldn’t look at me in the eye.”
Officials handed him the manifest for the flight. “I just stared at it for a second [More]

Even Orlando got hit twice in 2004 by hurricanes Charley and Frances.
And, although Florida enjoyed a more than 10-year hurricane drought after 2005’s Hurricane Wilma, Hurricane Hermine made landfall in the Florida Panhandle in 2016.
Still, Homeinsurance.com has ranked Florida’s cities based on their evaluation of NOAA-identified storms from 1965 to October 2014, doling out scores based on the number of storm events, number of storm-related deaths, property damage and storm-related injuries.

A 56-year-old New Jersey man was arrested Tuesday, more than a month after he told a Walt Disney World hotel worker, “Al-Qaida sent me here to blow the place up,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said that, on July 21, a greeter at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa told Gregory Lazarchick, “Have a great day,” to which he replied, “I don’t want to have a great day.”
After making the threat about al-Qaida, Lazarchick turned around while walking away and told the greeter, “You think I am joking? I’m not,” an arrest report said.
